Did you know there is a graduate school of fashion specialised in knitwear ?
The Ecole de la Maille de Paris (Paris School of Knitting) was founded in 2011 and is the only school in France—maybe even in the world—that trains designers in knitting.
The graduate programme lasts three years, during which students will ultimately present a full collection of clothes before a panel of professionals and then to the public during a fashion show.
In addition to fashion design and knitting techniques, students will learn specialised English, plastic arts, labour laws, art history, illustration, literature and marketing, among other subjects.
The goal is to train qualified designers with the necessary skills to enter the professional world. The Ecole de la Maille de Paris' philosophy encourages freedom with responsibility, acceptance and working together with everyone and for everyone.
